My name is Amanda de Santos, and I’m 23 years old. I’ve danced since I was very little, but I am always striving to learn and understand more. When I’m moving, I’m probably in Modern class or improvising, occasionally making video dance. The journaling practice you’ll find in the blog was developed during my time at Franklin & Marshall College under the guidance of Pam Vail and Jennifer Conley, without whom I would not be the dance artist I am today. They are two of many who have helped me grow both as a dancer and as a person.
As an artist, I hope that you see in my work what you wish to see, or even what you might need to see. I believe that my job is in the creation and not in the interpretation; my principal belief is that dance and art belong to those who are experiencing it.
Hey L*dies, Pam Vail 2019
That’s me there in the red yelling at you to go grab your journal or get up and DANCE!
